Orange Whale – The Present

Orange Whale has a long and historical background and means so much to those who cherish him. He gives inspiration and uses his fork to motivate people to do their best in life. King Hippo was inspired by Orange Whale. That’s why he mimicked his trademark open-close mouth action. It was only when Little Mac beat him that he retired from boxing and decided to apply for a job at DiC to become a character on the hit video game series, Captain N: The Game Master.

Where did Mr. Whale go after passing through Linque’s and aWinnerIsYou’s hands? Most people might remember the early Myrmid Website Solutions and its mascot. J.D. Turbeville, the current administrator of the network, decided that Myrmid needed a fun loving mascot that would attract users of all ages. While playing some NES/Famicom emulation, he came across Technos Samurai and fell in love with the game. It was at this time that he would use Orange Whale as the Myrmid official mascot. Once acquiring webhosting solutions for the popular sprite comic, 8-Bit Theater, Myrmid suddenly soared in popularity and Orange Whale was seen by tons of potential customers.
During this peak spike in notice, 8-Bit Theater creator, Brian Clevinger, was approached by J.D. Turbeville about including Orange Whale in one of his episodes. He agreed and even more people saw Orange Whale. People wondered what it was at first. Answers ranged from a balding man with an orange man to a mutated penis. Once Brian included the now popular “Are you ready for hosting? Yeah!” advert on 8-Bit Theater and explained the character in one of us updates, everyone understood that the mysterious figure was Orange Whale.
People would start infecting the internet with “Are you ready for ____? Yeah!” parodies. While Orange Whale is currently a cult figure, it is currently being noticed by more people everyday. At a recent visit to UC Santa Barbara, I was greeted by fellow 8-Bit Theater fans with OWisms. If Orange Whale was a real character, he would be so proud to know that people care for his lovable personality.
The future is Orange Whale and the time to inoculate the world with his virus is now.
