Just
when you thought he was dead...
This is the most asked question (for
good reason), so I have it here featured as the first
tip. It seemed impossible to do when I was a kid, but
now that I know the routine, it's a cinch. Jaws is
constantly in motion, so you must also follow his
path as he comes at you. If he's not lined up and
centered with the mast of the boat, don't waste any
strobes. Wait for him go back to the sea and then try
to center yourself again.
When you have Jaws lined up with your
mast, you'll need to press A at just the right time.
This is the tricky part.

This
is the right time.
Jaws should just barely touch the tip
of the mast when you hit the strobe. He'll then come
out of the water and start spinning. Now what you
must do is wait until you see his white belly -
that's when you have to push B to jam right it into
the shark. If you did this correctly you'll see a red
blast (or blood).
(FINAL NOTE: In this last scene, you
cannot pause the game.)
If you the mast did not connect, well,
you'll have at least two more tries (it depends on if
you bought any additional strobes), so check out the
below checklist to see if you're doing everything
right.
Still stuck? Watch a master (me!) beat
Jaws on my second strobe (and only at lvl 3)! You'll
need to have a copy of NESticle to run the movie and
a .zip program to unzip the file. Right-click and
save: JAWS.ZIP
How powerful a shark hunter can
I become?

Tired of being the old man in the sea, getting pushed
around by Jaws? Conch shells are the ticket to success. By alternating
visits to the two harbors, your Power can reach a maximum of 9.
But don't stop there! After maxing your Power level, you can use
more shells to purchase additional strobes to use against Jaws during
the final scene of the game (see above). The number 9 is the magic
number again, as the most strobes you can store at one time is 9,
which translates to 9 tries against Jaws in the final scene. And
how many shells can a shark hunter collect in total? You guessed
it, 99.
Help! I'm in a tight pinch! Is
there any way I can protect myself from Jaws?

Stay at the surface of the water, and
Jaws can't hurt you. He'll safely pass you right by.
This trick will not work on any of the other sea
creatures.
I'm bored. How do I piss off Jaws?

Stay at a harbor for too long, and
Jaws will appear. While you're still anchored safely,
the stupid shark won't be able to reach you. He'll
hopelessly smack against the land, crazed and
desperate for some diver blood. Everyone together
now, sing "Mack the Knife!"
