In September of 2005, a man who chose to remain anonymous to the public contacted me. He asked to be called “Captain.”
Captain chose Nintendo Player to publish his saga as a former Nintendo Power Editor. The brains behind the iconic Captain Nintendo character, the real Captain and I first threw around the idea of doing a single interview. However, given the scope and the many wild experiences he wished to share with fans, we instead worked out an arrangement for Captain to write lengthier chapters in a memoir format. This, in turn, would provide a more detailed look inside the company and the industry during the early days of Nintendo.
